Skullcandy Hesh 3 Over-Ear Headphones – – Great on bass not so crystal on lighter sounds

Bought as a gift for my brother at his request, he loves them and hasn’t had any problems. Really nice style with brilliant sound quality.

Great set of headphones – ok they are big over ears ones which perhaps are not the most discreet, but what you might lose in ‘cool’ you gain in quality of sound and comfort. The ear pads are very well padded and clamp tight to the head. There is very little if any noise bleeding from outside in or insode out. So you are totally wrapped up in your own world of sound. They fold up nicely so you don’t get all the hassle of damage when you carry them around in your bag. I’ve connected using blue tooth to laptop and phone, and use the supplied cable for my ‘old school’ ipod. Sound is equally good on either conncetion type. I haven’t experiences any signal drop out with my use so far. The controls on/off and volume are on the side of one headphone speaker and pretty obvious what they do. There is a blue indicator when you power them up to connect.

Great quality sound very clear. Here are the specifications for the Skullcandy Hesh 3 Over-Ear Headphones –:

  • Make sure this fits
    by entering your model number.
  • Keep your soundtrack going with up to 22 hours of rechargeable battery. Just 10 minutes of charging offers 4 hours of play time, thanks to Rapid Charge technology.
  • the pivoting armatures adjust for a perfect fit, while lightweight design and memory foam ear cushions allow for comfortable all day listening
  • EASY TO USE: Voice notifications assist in pairing your device. Take calls, change tracks, and adjust volume with the built-in controls and microphone.

As an audiophile and as a wireless headphone collector, i will say that the skullcandy hesh 3 are brilliant. They are lightweight, the sound is fantastic, nice bass, great treble. I’ve listened to these headphones while watching movies on my laptop and the sound is great, i’ve listened to these headphones while listening to spotify and the sound is great. Don’t forget that on spotify, you can adjust the equaliser to your personal liking, so if there’s too much bass – you can change that, and if there’s too much treble – you can change that. I recommend these headphones. I wear headphones 95% of the time everyday and these hesh 3 are perfect and comfortable. If you like to have your music loud – these headphones are perfect as they can go very loud. Some people compare the hesh 3 to the sony mdr zx770bn, i own a pair of those as well and i can tell you with confidence that the skullcandy hesh 3 are better than the sony mdr’s. The hesh 3 sound quality is so much better than the sony ones. Skullcandy hesh 3 – 10 out of 10 rating.

So far so goodbought them on sale for £65, and i do not regret it, they are loud and bassy but still balanced and keep the mids in a good place, the high end dies suffer a bit but these are low end headphones (sound tone not price) and the bluetooth has an impressive range, you will not be disappointed, the only thing i would like changed is you can’t change songs using the buttons in it.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Brilliant Headphones
  • and for that price they have brilliant all round sound
  • Great functionality and quality for the price – though a bit uncomfortable

Seriously impressed with these – if they had been marketed as noise cancelling i’d have been happy – they block out a huge amount of outside noise. Very comfortable on my xl sized head – my standard test is to wear them whilst walking my loopy lurcher on our 4 mile morning walk – and today they passed with flying colours – linked to my oneplus 3 phone they provided virtually unbroken sound for 90 minutes – listening to absolute radio via the absolute app. Because of the compressed nature of streamed radio its hard to gauge the quality of the of the sound but they (to my untrained ear) perform really well. They came mostly charged up – i plugged them to charge and the light was green within 20 minutes – they advertise that a few minutes on the charger will give hours of playback and 22 hours from fully charged. Other than that – for skullcandy – a brand i would truthfully have avoided in the past due to the in your face styling – these are so understated they look great – a very discreet logo is about it. They fold up nicely and are truthfully well worth the asking price – i could have knocked a star off because they really should have a pouch or case in the box but other than that are pretty much perfect. On the case front i bought this one yesterdayheadphones carrying case for beats solo hd and more / hard shell headset travel bag (black)its a perfect fit – very tight – and would recommend anyone with these purchase it.

These charge fairly quickly and the battery life is great- 22 hours or so from a full charge. The bluetooth on this worked a treat neither my mac nor my iphone had any trouble finding these. They aren’t noise cancelling, but the padding does block out most noise and i’ve had no complaints re: sound leakage when wearing these in the living room while others watched tv. The built-in microhone works well when i’ve used these to answer a call, no one had any trouble hearing what i had to say. The wireless reach was also good. I wa ble to put on my fave playlist on my laptop in the living room, and wander off to go do laundry, pop upstairs to put away things, and so on, without losing signal or the sound distorting. Very comfortable to wear, these did not feel as if they were squeezing nor were they loose. The over ear padding cupped comfortably, too.

Great set of headphones, they are fairly good at cancelling outside noise and the battery life is astonishing, the wireless distance is fairly good and the sound quality to my inerudite ears sounds ears sounds great with good volume and range. They are extremely comfortable even on my elephantesque ears, and while they do warm yours ears up a little i have not found it to be too much of a problem.

I bought these and they were great for 2 months however after these two months they broke , by broke i mean the ear cup area and the head band broke apart and were connected by a little wire , ive managed to glue them together so they work okay except for the swivl ,however due to the inconveniance im only going tk give them 3 stars.

Very good sound, some strong bass and clear high end. A perfect combination for listening to music one day and playing games/chatting with mates another. Connectivity is easy and the range is pretty decent – i can walk out my room at the front of the house, downstairs and it only disconnects properly when i get to the back of the kitchen at the back of the house and my house ain’t that small. Battery life is amazing, i’ve had them get low only once and i rarely remember to charge them after long 10-12-hour sessions. The seem structurally sound which is more than i can say for any other skullcandy product i’ve used. Unfortunately the over-ear cushions don’t quite go completely over my ear personally and it can get a little painful after a few hours of wearing them. I wouldn’t say i have especially large ears either. 5 inches diametre width-ways and 2. 25 inches top to bottom, if anyone’s interested).

Just as i expected, good quality productvery happy with it.

Bought as a birthday gift and was well received.

I wanted to give these a full trial before reviewing them. I have now tried them with two pcs, two laptops, three mobile phones, my tablet and a smart tv. The results were somewhat mixed. My pc flatly refused to acknowledge their existence despite driver updates, manual searches for the hardware, and so on. But my son’s pc found them at once, and worked smoothly with them from the start. On the other hand, his laptop sound suffered a peculiar intermittent cut out when using these – possibly there was some interference in the locality. But my daughter’s laptop, my tablet, my tv and all three phones linked immediately and worked fine. The sound quality was variable. With my smart tv i was delighted, and now use them whenever i would otherwise be disturbing my daughter or the neighbours with opera at full throttle, or my favourite horror movies. With the tablet and phones it was ok, but not stunning (though one of the phones has an outstanding sound quality normally).

Bought these a few months ago as i was fed up of buying pairs of £20 headphones, for them to brake a year down the line. I managed to get these in the sale for £80, (not including amazon giftcard promotions), and for that price they have brilliant all round sound. The bass and treble is balanced, and there hasn’t been a genre yet where i have been dissapointed with. Sound quality is excellent, and they’re decently noise cancelling. They’re comfortable, and all i could ask for in a pair of headphones. The only disadvantage is the build quality, which whilst isn’t awful, it’s not the best, and i wouldn’t throw these headphones around in the fear of breaking them. If it weren’t for that i would’ve given 5 stars.

So far these headphones have been amazing. The sound is great; the highs and mids are very clear and the bass (although loud) is prominent without being overpowering. They charge up very quickly and from a full charge, i got 21 hours of playback time, which is amazing. These headphones are very light and comfortable, meaning i can happily wear them for hours without really noticing they are there.

One of the best wireless headphones. You would have to spend over 3 times the price to do better.

This headset uses 40mm drivers and music sounds well balanced. Unfortunately the pads are a little small. They do fit, and are comfortable, but they could have been a bit larger. These connected to my phone and gaming pc straight away. Unfortunately my laptop is running a beta version of windows 10 and this is where the problem is. It took ages for the headset to show up and even when it eventually paired, it wouldn’t stay connected. Note, this is a beta test problem, and not a problem with the headset, because none of my bluetooth headsets now work.

Sound is crisp and they haven’t broken and i’ve had them since christmas.

These are amazing, i have had them quite a while now and they are perfect. I can wear them for hours without a problem of hurting my ears. The range you can walk away without it breaking up i found about 30 ft (with nothing in between to block the signal) i have never tried the built in mike as i have no use for it. They are a very good quality sound, nice and clear and quite loud. If your battery is running low then a voice tells you and you can either put them on charge or plug in the wire so you are connected direct. Great set and well worth the money.

So comfortable to wear and the charge lasts absolutely ages.

It’s definitely more than i expected. The noise isolation is great, even better than my sony active noise canceling. The sound is quite good for the price, i just wish i little bit less of bass. The material feels cheap and the buttons don’t feel well to press.

The sound quality is great with all sorts of music genres. I listen mostly to rock and metal music and it has a nice balance of treble and bass. The noise blocking is also pretty good. The battery lasts me for about 3 days and charges up very quickly. For wireless headphones they are surprisingly light. There is only one big problem though, after only 3 months they started to crack at the hinges, and 1 month later it completely broke on one of the parts that holds one of the cups, so now i have it held with tape.

I am normally sceptical about buying electronics from amazon, but this product is amazing. The sound quality is great, it charges really quickly, and it has a long playing time. I would advise getting a case to carry it around in if you’re putting it in a bag though.

Simply the best headphones i’ve ever had. Comfy, easy bluetooth connection. Awesome sound, and they look great. Why pay £300+ (£200 is for the name/badge) when you can have these beauties for £80.

I really like these skullcandy headphones. They’re comfortable to wear, even over long periods and they sound pretty good too. A wholly different sound from my trusty sennheisers, but they deliver a polished, possibly ‘polite’ sound. They feel eq’d to work best with dance music, pop & rock music and generally any music which delivers deep bass. There are no issues whatsoever with the battery – they literally lasted the whole of a flight from the uk to vietnam on a single charge. They’re also device-agnostic, working successfully with both my pc and smartphone. The real beauty of these, of course, is the lack of a cable, so you’re free to walk away from your pc and almost forget that they’re still on your head. They’re comfortable too, so there are no concerns about feeling too tight after an hour or so. My only real gripe is the sound quality. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just that i’ve heard better – but i also have to keep in mind that these headphones retail for around £80, which is a huge saving compared to the market leading bluetooth headphones – sony, sennheiser or bose.

Skullcandy have gotten their act together this year. Sound quality is brilliant, never lost connection walking around the house with the phone downstairs or out running phone in hand. Connects as soon as you power the thing on after the first pairing. Plenty of volume and a great sound stage. Noise isolation isnt great and the plush leather earcups will be sweaty after a couple hours of use but these arent sports headphones so ill give it a pass. Built well, mostly thick plastic with a metal headband, lightweight and folds up for convenience. If youve ever owned a pair of skullcandys before, forget what you remember about them, these are head and shoulders above what theyve ever made before.

Headphones are extremely comfy and sound quality is very good. I’m by no means an audiophile but general listening to music, podcasts, youtube videos etc is a much more enjoyable experience with no wires and comfy ear cups. Battery life is good so far, 4 days in. Only reason i didn’t give it 5 stars was because there is no carry case for traveling. It would be nice to have something to protect them in as i spent quite a bit on them, but i guess i can purchase some other sort of bag to protect them.

The initial impression is good, the headphones arriving well-packaged with the ‘phones demonstrating their ability to fold flat, plus a charging lead and wire to attach the headphone as an alternative to wireless bluetooth. That is actually a nice touch as not every device i have that i might want to use headphones on has bluetooth, so this makes them far more flexible. It is not obvious, to begin with, which was right and which left, but after some experiment i presume the side with the volume controls goes on the right. The right side also includes a small microphone so they can be used to take phone calls. In use, they are comfortable and adjustable – there is a good inch of padding around each earpiece. However, this is also the only form of noise cancellation and it’s not that effective. Ambient sound from outside is only defeated by turning the sound up to the extent that sound also leaks out the other way. To be honest, they are not sold as noise cancelling, but even so the amount of sound they did let through was quite surprising. That aside the sound quality is very good. I am no audio expert, but i really cannot not fault it at all.

My first impression of the box is saying to me are these gonna be any good. A rock themed name is this really going to blow my mind. You really have to look at the picture of the headphones quite close to make out the design. The box is quite thin compared to other expensive headphones and you think to yourself how big are these?it’s much more clear once you take out of the film packaging what the headphones look like, wireless perfection it says, you turn to the back and read crystal-clear acoustics. Flip over the cover and it looks quite impressive, all black with skull box, instructions to the left of the flip. The headphones are very light, feel strong though and i like the smooth finish. Once you put them on, you’re easily impressed with the comfort; the pads cover your ears and extra padded on the top. Straight out of the box, i’ve pressed the button for 3 seconds and a voice says it’s on. Back to my phone, and bluetooth. It picks up hesh 3, straight away. Back to my music and hit play. The music connects straightaway and you’re taken aback by the sound, walking around the room, your head feels light and you get into the music. All there is to do now, play the same tracks on my other headphones and see what i could spot.

I got these for my daughter who has been using beats by dre (wired) headphones but, after little over a year, the sound has gone in 1 ear making them unusable and pretty much uneconomic to repair – needless to say that after that experience, i don’t want to spend any more money on beats. This is the first pair of bluetooth headphones we’ve had and i have to say i am impressed – they are easy to use, battery life is great, the bluetooth connectivity seems very reliable and, most importantly, the sound quality is fantastic. . Clear, punchy and with plenty of bass but not overpoweringly so. They feel a little more plasticky than the beats but i guess this is reflected in the price. They also fold up in the same way as beats (and fit tightly in the beats solo case) but it’s a bit miserly that these headphones don’t come with any travel case of their own. Charging is via a micro usb cable (supplied) and although no plug is provided, it will work with any generic usb plug. There is also a traditional headphone jack supplied so that you can keep listening in the event that you run out of battery whilst on the go. A handy ‘quick charge’ facility allows you to charge the headphones for a few minutes to get some emergency power to tide you over until you have time for a full recharge.
