Oh these are good well better than good. With good range around my flat wherever i am i can hear the sound crisp and clear. This is one of the best purchases i have made this year. I would highly recommend to anyone. And they charge themselves when not in use. Buy these and you wont be disappointed.
Have had these headphones for some time now. And too be quite honest they are really first class ,i cant really fault them for what i use them for. The sound quality is really top notch for wireless phones , they are slightly louder than normal phones i think (good i like loud). Just make sure you return them to the cradle to recharge after use , i keep forgetting after a heavy night listening too music late at night (you know what i mean after a few beers). So yes i would recommend if you want quality wireless phones , and the build quality seems robust as well. Oh not forgetting the range is good as well , i can go outside and still get a fairly good signal through brick walls.
I had misgivings about spending this much on a pair of headphones, but the reviews i’ve read persuaded me that these are worth the purchase price – and boy were they right. The sound quality is excellent, the range is good and they are very comfortable – i wore these non-stop for 4 episodes of band of brothers (awesome series – if you haven’t watched it, you really should) and i didn’t feel discomfort once. I appreciate that these are not cheap and on a budget you may balk at the price, but i assure you that you won’t be disappointed with them should you decide to buy them.
It says on the listing, multi-receiver transmission – transmitter supports up to four pairs of headphones simultaneously. So i bought 3 sets all together but it will only support two. This is very misleading and i now have a 3rd set that’s of no use.
Bought for tv viewing, these have been very easy to use and make following dialogue much easier. No connection other than as a customer, etc, etc.
Sennheiser RS165 Vibrant Sound Wireless Headphones : After about a weeks use i am very impressed with these so far. I wanted wireless headphones due to gaming/watching tv while not disturbing the family and not tangling up the room with cables that could be tripped over or damaged. So far i have had zero issues with range however it is worth noting that i am sitting in the same room as the base station with nothing blocking line of sight. I have also been impressed with the sound quality and lack of an latency, everything is perfectly in sync to me and i can detect no perceptible static or interference straight out if the box and have tested this with some videos that track possible latency problems. My one negative would be the comfort, i think the pads it comes with are actually quite comfortable however at the moment i think the headset feels quite tight (and i have a reasonably small head). I am hoping it will loosen up a bit over time. Overall a great headset that is worth spending the extra on for the sound quality.
Excellent headphones, once i changed the ear cups to velour ones, the pleather cups make you sweat really bad, £3 from ebay fixed that problem, first charge seems to take a couple of days, but after that they last a long time. Really good sound quality, perfect for music or movies,.
I bought these ear phones as my hearing it getting so bad, they are very comfortable and easy to use, i bought another ear phone so my husband can use them as well, great service as i received them very quickly.
Over the years i have owned plenty of the big named brands, always the top model in most cases. These headphones are as good as my first expensive sennheiser headphones. I play keyboards and i need a good set of headphones to cope with the lower notes on my keyboard. The sennheiser really give a good clear and soft response. I notice in some reviews, they claim lack of distance, i`m not travelling all around the building so distance is not a problem. I can recommend these headphones and i am pleased with my purchase.
Excellent, good clear crisp sound and very comfortable too.
These are very good headphones and typical sennheiser quality. Build quality is good and the unit is attractive. I’m glad it comes with aaa’s as at least i can stick in a spare pair in case of emergency power loss or replace them when they get old. They are very comfortable and just seem to ‘fit’. Despite looking like ear defenders they are very light and comfortable. Sound is excellent you wouldn’t know they’re wireless. I have had a few pairs of sennheisers and an award winning pair of akg’s and these are up there quality wise. Whether for tv/film or for music, they are detailed, clear and have a good open sound. The volume adjustment and bass boost on the unit is an absolute godsend of a feature so you can ‘tweak’ the sound and volume wherever you are. Being wire free is very liberating, i didn’t realise how tied i was with my old wired headphones; constantly dodging furniture, contorting my body and tripping over the wire.
My old sennheiser headphones finally died after many years use. I then made a mistake and bought a much cheaper set which i immediatelyreturned to the retailer. I found the rs165 on the amazon site which were delivered next day. They are probably not the very best headphones but they are very comfortable and the sound is superb, the bass boost is exceptional. My only complaint is they cost £169. 00 yesterday and today they only cost £129. Come on amazon, play the game.
Sounds good, battery life is good. It would be nice if there was a beep to tell you when you have turned it off ( there is a green light which shows whether or not it is on or off). Sound on these is as good as the earbuds sennheiser 3. The range is pretty good seeing as we live in a brick house, i do lose the connection when i am furthest place in the house (from the receiver) but i expected it to be a lot shorter than it is.
I’ve had them for a year now and they are still going strong. The only downside i can possibly think of is the range isn’t too great but other than that really good headphones with beautiful sound quality.
Fantastic phones, but then they are sennheisers. Lovely clear sound and so simple to use. One problem with much more expensive phones (in my humble opinion) is the unnecessarily high bass. You have the option to add that with these with a one touch button.
Have had these for about 4 months and i brought them for use with a new tv as my hearing is worse than my wife’s and she hates the volume loud. So i have used these almost every single day for several hours at a time, more at weekends and i find them really good. Some people have said they feel these are to tight, i don’t think they are, would simply describe them as ‘snug’. I would rate my head size as ‘average to slightly above average’. The shape of the cups (sort of a ‘d’ shape) means they cover the entire ear and so block out external sound very well. The large and easy accessible volume controls work well. The base unit sits behind my tv out of site, and i simply drop the headphones on them when not in use. Putting them onto the base unit is very easy and not at all fiddly. I am no audiophile so cannot really comment on the sound other than to say from my perspective, its ‘good’, very, very occasionally, if there is no noise at all from the tv program, i can hear a slight hiss, but as soon as any sound comes from the tv, i cannot hear the hissing at all.
Clear, crackle-free sound, good coverage, easy to charge and nice looking. Larger than necessary ear cups lead to pressure on my jaw bone and the two tiny pads on the headband feel like a goblin in stilettos perched on my head after about 20 mins. I previously had a pair of thomson whp3311bk-uk wireless headphones which had bloody awful hiss on most sound, but at least they were comfy for hours of wear. I’ve replaced the padding on these sennheisers with some of my own that braces the weight a bit better, but likely voided my warranty in the process. Hopefully they don’t die on me.
I was originally thinking about the 175s because of the optical connectivity. But got swayed by all the good reviews about these. I did have to get a dac (prozor 192khz) for the samsung tv. I was a bit worried about over-complicating the signal path. But i must say i’m very happy with the results. I bought another pair for silent disco. Feels like a really loud club. There is a slight bit of leakage at higher volumes, but not enough to wake the house.
I ordered these as a replacement for my trusty sennheiser rs130s which i’ve had for several years now, but which i recently managed to break part of the plastic of, meaning the right earcup dangles down and the headset doesn’t sit properly on my head anymore. My first impressions of the unit were good – it looks the part, with a more modern and sleeker appearance than my old set – and it connects up in the same way, so no issues there. The sound quality is great and definitely an improvement over the 130s. I’m not a massive audiophile and i can’t really pinpoint the improvements precisely, but i do listen to a lot of music and it all sounds great with these, with the bass boost button being handy at times. The other great thing about the sound compared to my old model is the lack of background ‘hiss’ present. The old fm technology of the 130s meant there was always a slight hiss which could be a bit annoying during quiet scenes in movies for example. With the rs165s, i haven’t had this issue and only managed to detect a slight hiss when turning the volume up extremely high. The transmitter sits very close to my wireless router but this has not been an issue for me. The battery life seems great so far and if you use the charging cradle after each use, they’ll basically always be well charged. The old 130s had an annoying habit of switching themselves off automatically after a couple of minutes without any sound detected (and even sometimes if there was audio but the source was at a very quiet level).
Good sound clarity and signal pick up. Holds a charge for a reasonable time and the tower is placed inconspicuously in the lounge setting. Leads to mains and source are long enough. The on ear controls are easily managed and the bass is very effective. Only problem i’ve encountered is the poor reception when mobile. Signal weakens and disappears 10 meters or so beyond the source.
Would have given a better rating but these headphones were a little too big and i couldn’t adjust them to make any smaller. They therefore felt a bit uncomfortable. It’s a shame as they sounded great. I had to return as for the price i needed them to be perfect for me.
Such a great product that i have bought 2 pairs. They are very comfy on the head, deliver a good tone to the ears and are easy to charge. A note to anyone considering to buy these, another person in the room cannot hear the tv if you are using the headphones – well, not on our tvs anyway.
