Sennheiser Momentum 2 : Awesome headphones

Excellent sound, folds easily for travel. This works amazing on the go (and on a plane to block out the noise). Money well spent in my opinion. Very highly recommend as a budget high end headphone.

Great headphones, i have a pair of shure se215 that sound great and the momentum also sound great, they’re both different, the shure is more accurate and fantastic sound and the momentum is a bit more warm. They’re different and that’s why i bought bothupdate: couldn’t be more satisfied with the sound quality and comfort, unfortunately made me stop using my shure se215 that i loved. Tried bose and sony wireless, but my wired momentum simply beats them.

Had them a year now and still an absolute pleasure to use. Great quality of sound, very comfortable even after long haul flights. You can feel the quality throughout from headphones to packaging, minor criticism is that the amp end of the aux cable is loosing a little rigidity around the jack so could be a point of failure in the future. I hope they last until i upgrade in a few years but still working fine for now.Best headphones for the money.

Headphones themselves pretty nice however they come with a single cheap cable which didn’t work with my mp3 player or phone. After finding this issue see lots of people have had to buy replacement cables which don’t come cheap so they are on the way back.

I was after a good sounding pair of portable headphones. After reading many reviews i eventually plumped for these. Have not been disappointed as they sound pretty good with my iphone6s. Have recently ordered a headphone amp will see how that goes. In the meantime would heartily recommend these. Good sound for a good price.

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear Headphones (Android) – Ivory : Superb headphones, highly recommended.

Exceptional clarity of sound across hi, medium and low tones. Strong but not cumbersome bass, no leakage, comfortable, perfect pick up of recorded nuances. A whole new world of listening pleasure.

Bought these to replace an old well worn set of sennheisers. First of all, i tried a number of different makes to compare before returning to these. Sound balance was just right for my listening tastes and not bass heavy (as was the case with most of the others i tried). I really like the detachable cable (although it’s a bit stiff to remove) and how the ear cups fold up to make storage more compact. They are comfortable to wear for long periods and look good. For the price i think these are excellent. I can’t comment on the durability of them as i haven’t had them long enough, but so far so good and if they are anything like my original pair, then they should give god long service.

Many people say that the on ear headphones are very similar to those ones i completely will say something opposite this one’s have better sounds better comfort better noise cancellation, i can only admitted that the mid sounds a bit worse than the small version but injured in general this one’s are the killers you don’t need better headphones than those ones just buy this and you’ll be very happy.

Sound great, the cables a little weak, so i’d recommend an upgrade.

These headphones sound great to my ear, everything sounds really clear with no obvious flaws. Build quality is superb and are showing no signs of wear about 8 months of regular use. Only complaints is that the cable feels a bit short for desktop use, though with that said these are designed for on-the-go listening primarily.

After 6 month of use, this headphones is very useful and good price value to listen every kind of music and watching movies with netflix, sennheiser can prove his performance to provide good quality and high design of them own products for a passionate customer love listen music and enjoy a good quality sound.

Always worth paying as much as you can when it comes to things like this.

Looked at many sets of headphones to use on commuter train and tube trips. Considered bluetooth, noise cancelling and actually thought what’s wrong with a cable and they are around ear anyway so lets give them a go. Looked at the bose, bowers & wilkins and sennheiser and the sennheiser had amazing reviews for sound and i think the look great. I’m on the tube and i can hear nothing but music, so the noise cancelling i wouldn’t value. The cable is no bother and they look great. Top purchase, happy customer.

Excellent class leading headphones. They are stylish and now fold, so have a smaller footprint in your bag. The sound quality is superb. I was concerned that there would be a problem with the headphones fitting over my ears, or feeling cramped. I’ve tried many, many headphones in the same price bracket and above and these are actually the most comfortable.

Pretty good sounding & stylish. Didn’t quite hit my idea of perfection but that’s my fault for not listening before buying, given how subjective audio can be. Cable lasted well until i destroyed it. Default is iphone cable, but can still play/pause on android. Replacement cable’s a little pricey as it’s a 2. (got official one for £30 w/ inline controls but there’s probably cheaper out there)use for work only since walking with them can be a thuddy. Work well enough for blocking out coworkers, pleased to say.

Been trying headphones lately up to £1000 and while i’m not going to say these outperform their much pricier counterparts the differences to my ears are just that – they are different but not necessarily better or worse. If you’ve grown up listening to the slightly exaggerated bass of many budget to medium mainstream cans then the expensive models tend to sound like a compromise between greater detail and lack of bass, especially if like me, your home audio system also incorporates a sub – i have a properly calibrated meridian surround system so by no means a budget setup as my reference and really like these cans for late night and mobile listening. I also think they really hit the sweet spot of price vs performance and definitely worth putting in your shortlist.

Strong bass, exceptional clarity, defined mids, and extreme comfort. I could wear these all day every day. The build quality is superb, and i personally have never found anything i don’t like about them.

Best value for money headphones on the market, high quality sound, outperforming other headphones costing nearly a thousand pounds.

It made a huge difference from the ones i was using before as the sound quality is quite good for the price. They are comfortable and feel solid and durable. Noise cancellation could be slightly better but i use them as my main headphones in an open space office and for that purpose they are great.

Rediscovering my favourite music with these excellent headphones. Hearing stuff that i just never heard before on many tracks. Excellent sound and response, and over ear fit is very comfortable compared to my previous on-ear phones. The headphone fold nicely to fit in the quality case supplied and like the fact that the cable is detachable/replaceable as these are often the first parts to fail.

The sound quality of this headphone is really impressive, on an absolute scale. Compared to the price, it’s terrific. I use them with a headphone amplifier (fiio a5) and they have a depth, punch and definition that is hard to find in the.

These sennheisers are excellent cans. The ear cups are larger than my previous set which makes for a more comfortable experience. The sound quality is a step up from anything i’ve had before, good control of the whole range and a nice deep but tight bass. They come with a lovely case and bag plus the cable can be replaced which was why i bought these as my last pair didn’t have that option. Overall a great set of headphones which i recommended.

I have owned tens of headphones over the years, mostly hifi and including electrostatic ones. I would rate these headphones as way too expensive for the value they deliver. I bought mine directly on the sennheiser website for £99. Yes, they are currently on sale. I have the following issues with them:- first, the most obvious, they are not quite big enough to be around the ear, they are large over the ear headphones, not what i expected, but if i shake them a little, i can get my ears to fit inside, lol- my head gets very hot after a few minutes minutes, vs never with my old staxx electrostatic headphones (i know this is a little unfair as electrostatic headphones remain structurally cold)- the highs are very sharp for the ear, making a disagreable sound, not worthy of £100 headphones,- the mediums are muddy and the bass are very flat, actually the bass may be the best part of the sound, but the balance between flat bass, muddy mediums and sharp highs just does not workwhen listening vivaldi’s stabat mater, i could not get the medium range because of the sharp highs. When listening to emmitt fenn’s prologue, all the sounds were muddled. When listening to sufjan stevens’s chicago, the highs again were hurtful to my ear. When listening to beethoven piano concertos, on the high notes the headphones sound terrible, when in the medium range it is more acceptable but again muddled. I own a wireless pair of jbl buds that i use on the go. They sound a lot crisper than the sennheiser. I noticed previously that sennheiser had lost their ways in their affordable range and favoured other brands. I can see now that they pretty much lost it across the board. Unfortunately, i had read only excellent reviews of this product before i made the purchase.

The quality of sound of these over-ears are excellent. I tried these in richer sounds comparing against sony’s wh-1000xm3. The sound cancelling on the sony’s is epic but for this reviewer, i just preferred the wired sound richness of the senny. Comfort is good but not perfect as there is a little pressure on my right ear – nothing major at all though. This version isn’t the noise cancellation headphone, so please don’t expect quietness on the tube.

Very comfortable and light pair of headphones, very stylish but obviously thats subjective, the only thing that lets them down is the sound quality and this is compared to my other senns, i use my 598s and ie80s daily but these momentums sound very hollow and empty in comparison. On a side note i bought mine for my mother directly from sennhieser but after borrowing them i felt i needed to post a basic review.

For £129 i think you would be hard pressed to get much better value for money. Build: i was surprised by the quality of the materials and construction ie leather and steal. Treated carefully, they look as though they will last. Comfort: excellent in this regard. Lightweight and without any annoying pressure points, you can achieve a good fit to ensure the best sound quality out of the phones. Sound quality: being closed back, these are surprisingly airy. Using an oppo ha2se headphone amp, an iphone 6s and hires files through qobuz/roon, the phones are largely neutral with a very slight bass emphasis. Highs are more than sufficient and the mids are well presented ie excellent for a variety of music. They produce a good sound stage and an engaging presentation. Final points: would thoroughly recommend these.

I have been looking for some good headphones with a detachable cable. In this day and age it is a must. A lot of good headsets just end up in the bin simply because the cable broke. So i picked these up after testing the sound quality, and these are really good. However, the fundamental problem is that these use a proprietary cable. This means that you are at the complete mercy of the company for as long as it chooses to support the device. Not only this, a replacement cable costs £30 here in the u. Not only this, but if lets say you were to switch from android to iphone or vice versa, the cable won’t work. I can get half decent headphones for that price.

This review is from : Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over-Ear Headphones (Android) – Ivory

The build quality is very nice, it has detachable ear pads and cable, however the 2. 5mm locking cable means that you may have difficulty in replacing your cable for a better quality one or if it becomes faulty, a sennheiser replacement is £20. The sound quality is where the sennheiser is let down in my opinion. If you like a highly equalized sound with the treble recessed and the the bass enhanced then this may be your thing, but in no way is this a neutral headphone. It is highly questionable how this gets such rave reviews and 5 stars by hifi magazines. I sent my sennheisers back because i found the sound grating – i may as well have bought some beats. Instead i replaced these with the audio-technica ath-m50x and boy what a difference, its like moving from a toy to professional equipment, the sound is infinitely more listenable and accurate than the sennheisers, such a balance of treble mid and bass. The only people that should consider the sennheiser momentum’s are those that like style over substance.

I hate earbuds (taotronics wireless and b&w wired were the best i could find), so i decided to buy headphones. (i had a kef set which never expanded far enough and then wire broke). My prioritiy was good sound followed by comfort and portability. These were the best i could find and i was not disappointed. I bought mine used for just over £100, i wouldn’t pay over that for any headphone no matter how good they were. The sound quality is excellent (for normal “pop” music) i’m not an audiophile but the bass is deep without being muddy and the highs are crisp enough for me. Mid tones are excellent and the stereo effect is well balanced. They do not distort at maximum volume like cheap headphones. The over ear design gives a good degree of noise cancellation, even though they are not a proper noise-cancelling set. The construction is mainly metal which should give a long life and they are light and sit comfortably on the head.

My first sennheiser product, and what a disappointment. The sound was poor, volume very weak even on the highest setting (and i have no hearing impairment, in fact my hearing is very sharp). The in-line buttons/ commands on the cable did not work. Pity about the fancy packaging and presentation, the overall sound quality was poorer than one of cheap, non-branded headset. Sorry, sennheiser, i was really looking forward to this headset, but i was bitterly disappointed. For the brand prestige and for the price, the headset i got was a disgrace. I returned the product immediately and i got promptly a full refund from amazon.

0’s from richer sounds and after giving them time to burn in they have the signature warm sound associated with sennheiser, low end frequency bass is moderate and the headphones sound best when listening to rock. Build quality is fantastic and i don’t downvote products for trivial things like cable length. While they do sound nice the sound quality is below what i’d expect for the price. Akg k550s gave been priced as low as 80 pounds which i’ve owned and they demolish the sennheisers, they’re a reference grade headset so it may be unfair to compare the two, but it gets worse. I also own a pair of sony xb900’s which cost me fifty pounds, also the corded version, as a non premium pair of headphones the sony’s shouldn’t be as good right?. After having the momentums and sony’s through my amp the sony headphones were just flat out better, they are tailored towards people who like their bass on the heavy end but sennheisers selling around the 150 price mark shouldn’t lose out to a 50 pound pair of headphones. All that aside i love the design, appearance, ability to fold them and portability but the most important aspect for me is sound and while there’s nothing super bad about the sennheisers they don’t excel at anything and cheaper alternatives by their rivals are beating these.

I actually bought these in store for the same price as on amazon. Like many it involved a lot of agonizing over the choices – the go-to option seemed to be bose qc35 ii, but there were just too many reviews citing a long running technical problem. The sony option also seemed to be a contender – but again, too many reviews citing the fragility of its construction. In the end it actually came down to trying them in the store – the momentum 2s were by far the more comfortable for me – even more comfortable than the bose ones. As for the noise cancellation, i would agree the bose beat the momentums – but not by that much. Now that i have them the setup was a cinch, they sound great and work seamlessly with my iphone and mac.

Good for if you want defined bass. Not boom like sony’s or beats, but more definition in the lows. However if your looking for a wide soundstage with clear and defined mids these are not for you. Highs get tiring, constantly have to turn down the volume during vocals. Listening to them through my onkyo dp-x1 dac. Muddy is the best way i can describe them.

These headphones are great but the cans are too small. They are over the ear but in reality they are closer to half over half on. You can put your ears in them but it is a constant adjustment to make them sit comfortably. I sent them back because if the size of the cans as i was adjusting more than listening but i miss them. They look great and sound good. If you have small ears they are perfect.
