Plantronics Voyager Edge UC Optimised tooth Headset : Great Headset. Poor Case.

The headset itself is amazing. Call clarity is crystal clear, with great battery life and excellent functionality like the auto answer function. The connection is stable to both my iphone 6s and my macbook pro, handling calls from both with ease, and without any additional user interaction, for example to switch between the macbook and the phone. I so want to give the voyager edge (model b255-m) a full 5-star. However the whole product is let down not by the headset but by the case, specifically how the headset at clips into the case, or rather doesn’t clip into the case. The slightest knock to the body of the case causes the headset to pop out, so it’s not suitable for carrying a jacket on a bike when you’re relying on the case providing both protection to the headset and some additional power. I would absolutely recommend purchasing the headset. However i would also recommend purchasing a cheap hard-case with 2 pockets to store the case/dongle and headset separately.

Best bluetooth headset i ever owned. Best bluetooth headset i ever owned. After using (and loosing) plantronics legend the edge was a clear replacement. The only downside is a smaller battery.

Really easy to setup and use. Bought this to replace my current jabra voice 550 over head unit, for comfort and practicality. Really easy to setup and use, pretty much straight out of the box. I spend a lot of time on conference calls so went with a device with a decent battery life and quality. Sadly in the last couple of weeks the gremlins have appeared. On a conference call – people are saying they can only hear every other word. Ive updated the firmware, but still no luck, have had to revert back to the over ears headset, and now this is pretty much used just as a bluetooth headset for my phone. In terms of form and materials manufacturing excellent. But the sound is somewhat weak.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Best bluetooth headset I ever owned
  • A Seriously Good Headset
  • It is smart (answers the call when you put the device in

Good, lightweight product; be aware that the bluetooth adaptor doesn’t work in yealink t46g business phones, you have to buy the proper yealink adaptor.

Best one of these i’ve had yet. Call quality is very clear on skype/lync and also on my mobile.

A fantastic headset, particularly if you use skype for business. . Bought to replace a jawbone era after it’s noise cencellation started cancelling my speech (like every single other jawbone i’ve ever had ended up doing) i’ve been really pleased with this headset. Comfortable, super-light, great battery life, excellent sound quality and reasonably good noise cancelling. This really is a great little device. It’s noise cancelling isn’t as good as the jawbone, but it is pretty impressive. And given the failure rate of the jawbones (they tended to last me about 6-8 months ebfore they failed), this one will hopefully trade a little in quality for a lot in longevity. I’ve had it 2 months and it’s still going strong so far. Pairing is really simple, whether it’s your pc using the supplied dongle or your phone. The uc features mean that the mute button works with software phoine like skype for business (this is the only one i’ve tested it with so may not work for others). It’s supplied with a range of ear-pieces in various sizes that should fit most people and a loop to go over your ear if you want extra security.

Fantastic headset, fit could be more comfortable. Being able to connect the voyager edge uc to both my mobile and my laptop at the same time makes working across platforms much easier. The ability to answer a call simply by putting the headset on is great, so you don’t have to walk around all day with it glued to your ear, the voice controls also seem to work very well (or at least they have in my limited experience)my only complaint would be the fit of the ear pieces, while i’m sure the three supplied inserts fit the majority of peoples ears i am struggling to get used to them at the moment. I’ve had plantronics headsets in the past (backbeat go) and the ear pieces fit me perfectly with that but the design of the ones supplied with the voyager edge are completely different. The over ear clip does help, but i can imagine that it could easily be lost as it doesn’t have a home in the charging/carry case for the headset.

Great quality, excellent voice recognition. You have to pay for quality, this is sure quality. Love the voice recognition for answering/rejecting, this is very helpful when i’m out on my bike or driving the car. I use this in the office with both the work computer (skype/lync and pretty much most apps/sounds), from my office telephone and my mobile phone. It only connects to two devices at once i think, but that’s no trouble. Love the case having it’s built in recharge facility too, that’s great for longer journeys (over to europe for instance). My only wish would be to have the ability from the computer to expand on the voice recognition functionality.

So this is my first “in ear” headset and so that takes getting used to (and i’m still not fully). But it does come with a “clear plastic” ear loop hook which i much prefer using, but you have to take that off when you put it back into it’s holder / charger. I’m assuming that constantly putting this loop hook on and taking it off will eventually break / weaken the loop hook.

While smartphones and tablets are the poster children for the mobile revolution, the bluetooth headset is an often forgotten cousin. Many of us have used headsets in vehicles out of necessity but being hands-free at the desk is a revelation and once freed from the tyranny of the telephone handset, there’s no going back. Perfect for this journey to freedom is plantronics latest model in the voyager series, the voyager edge uc. The voyager edge is an in-ear bluetooth headset with a battery-enhanced carry case. With a squarish head and a short stubby microphone arm, the edge is designed to sit snugly in the ear without the traditional over-the-ear loop. A selection of three silicon ear pieces help get the right fit and i found that a slight rotation of the ear piece kept the edge firmly in my ear. Looking round the headset, there are an on-off switch and volume rocker on the sides. The whole top surface is a “call” button and there’s a command or “voice” button on the microphone arm. In the box, there’s a charger with both european and uk plugs, a usb cable and the previously mentioned selection of clear silicone earpieces designed to achieve the perfect fit for headset wearers.

It is smart (answers the call when you put the device in. Connects to both laptop with ms lync and smartphone and works whathever device i use. It is smart (answers the call when you put the device in your ear, speaks to you when you walk away and loose the connection, etc). It looks good, is quite small and wears comfortably.
